Hello Internet people and Friends!
Many of my friends and family have been asking lately, what exactly is Altered Perspectives, and what is it all about? Well, to be blunt and point-blank in the response:
Altered Perspectives is a long-standing passion project of mine. I created the idea back in College (somewhere around 2007-2009), and have been brainstorming for many, many, years on how, I as an individual, can create my mark on society. Despite my own personal fears or general anxiety surrounding putting myself out there. Also, Not to discount my own personal mental state, and history of mental illness(Major Depression, Anxiety, PTSD, etc), that has plagued me for the better part of my adult life.
I actually have an unrelenting desire to give my personal take and opinions on quite a bit of different subject matter, and I feel I can articulate that well, and perhaps (hopefully) help, or inspire others that may be in the same boat as me, to feel as though they are not alone.
For starters, the primary subject matter that I will cover is mainly centered around Art (as a broad subject) and the creation of/sources of inspiration that many people. The main questions being; what inspires you? or, where do you get your inspiration?
The secondary aspects of the YouTube (or alternate video platform?) channel and this Blog will be a showcase of my own works. Starting with some Poetry/Prose writing that I executed during some of the darkest times in my life, though admittedly not perfect or in-line with general practices or traditional writing styles. I feel that these sorts of things should be shared with the public, as much as I have guarded them from the outside world, or only shared on other sites, where I can maintain some sort of anonymity to protect my own mental well-being.
Much of this writing has some very dark undertones, and can be construed as a loose coming of age story of a late-teen/early 20's person, in a state of mental disrepair and trying to find his place in the pursuit of love and general "faith" to find out who [he] is.
Somewhere around 7-10 years ago, I began a process of aggregating this content into a book I was going to call "Struggles of the Unseen", and tried to categorize each piece, unfinished or otherwise into specific categories for the chapter/sections, with a foreword at the beginning of each section explaining how the selections applied to the categorization.
Lastly, I largely consider myself a multi-faceted/multi-talented artist, often describing myself as an enigmatic, with the mind of an engineer, and the inquisition of a social scientist. With this in-mind, as I grow my own community following, I would absolutely love to take on the role of interviewer with other artists or entertainment personalities, to try and find out what drives them and inspires them to continue the creative processes in their own words.
I look forward to further developing this idea, and hope you, the reader, will look forward to more input from me!
Tertiary note, real quick - I'm separating my passion projects between this and "Celadrieldor Gaming", because that channel/blog, is more centered around gaming (video games and board games). Thank you!
